everybody there. Me, Elder Bybee, and Elder Nielson were all there and
all three of us were comps with Elder Harvey. So we took a picture and
sent it to him. Zone training was really good and I loved the theme of
it. We talked mostly about how missionary work should not be boring,
routine, everyday the same work. We need to learn to try new things,
try talking to people different ways, be creative. Our zone goal this
transfer is "to kill the robot.". It is so easy to just get stuck in
the routine of missionary life but when you just settle in with that a
lot of times you stop pushing yourself and you just settle in. I don't
want to do that, I want to have fun, I want to try my best everyday
and not just go through the motions! It was really good. I liked it!
Then me and Elder Stomps got to teach about studies and how we can
improve our studies. I think it went really well. We just talked about
where does a good study start? Then we talked about planning our
studies, praying for help in our studies, and having a good morning
routine so you are ready to go at 8 to start studying (I know I just
contradicted myself..) then we focused a lot on comp study and talked
about how it's really a chance to actually teach each other and learn
so much more than we would alone and then how we can use our companion
studies effectively. I think it went really well. :) we also watched a
talk during zone training from Jefferey R Holland and it related
missionary work with the atonement of Christ. He talked about why
missionary work has to be hard and why we have to be challenged. It is
so that in the smallest way possible we can feel just a small part of
what Christ felt. He said "missionary work is not easy, because
salvation is not easy, it never was easy!" That really touched me and
it really made me just want to work harder. It was a great Zone
tRaining. After that we headed back to Wil and taught Yvone. She has
never really had a strong faith in anything and she hopes that God is
there and she hopes for a lot. But we talked with her and just told
her she doesn't have to hope she can know. She just has to ask. We
committed her to just pray and ask if God is even there and then go
from there. She was very shocked with the idea because it was so
simple but she said she will do it. Then we just spent the rest of the
day going by on people. On Wednesday the day started out really good,
we went and ran with Nanu and Audrey and me and Nanu did intervals on
the track. We did 6x400 on 4 minute interval and were holding like
67-69 the whole time. I was DYING. I threw up after the forth... Haha
but it was great. Other than that we had a pretty boring day, we just
had to go to Zurich to anmeld (register) Elder stomps. That took a
really long time. Then we finally came home and just went by some
potentials but nobody was home. Thursday we had planned most of our
day to a service project that didn't end up happening. So instead
elder Stomps decided he wanted to cook banana bread and so he did that
and then we took it to a few members. Then we went by Bruder Riesen
and talked with him for a while and shared a spiritual thought on
"gods will not ours" and he shared some really personal and really
touching stories. It was really cool. Then we just went and tried to
catch some less actives at home finding along the way. Nobody is home
right now because everybody is on vacation!
Friday was pretty boring we just did all our studies and then went out
finding for a bit and found one really nice lady from Peru, she said
she would meet with us and also gave us the numbers of three of her
friends and her mother in law to try to meet with them as well. That
was cool. We will see how they turn out. Then we went home and did our
weekly planning and ate some lunch/dinner and then we went and played
soccer with the YSA and Mario was there and we got there early with
him and taught him a lesson. Saturday was a mix up but way good. We
went running with Audrey in the morning and then afterwards ate
pancakes and had a mission prep class together. It went really well.
Then we went to the Kudrnac real quick just to see how they are doing
and we caught them at just the right time and gave a spiritual
thought. Then we headed out to Steckborn to go by on a less active
family and do some finding. I had never been there before but it is a
way cool city. It's right on the Bodensee and is just a cool little
town. I liked it. We didn't have any success but at least the
surroundings were good! :) on Sunday we had a great day. We had church
in the morning and it was way good. I really enjoyed the talks in
sacrament meeting and then for the second hour the girl teaching it
got sick in sacrament and so we got to teach that lesson. It went
pretty well for about 10 min prep. Haha :) we just talked about Joseph
Smith and his life. He is seriously so amazing and had to suffer so
much in order to restore this church on the earth for us. I love
studying Joseph and his life and really just trying to see him in real
life through my imagination. After church we went to the Diethelms for
lunch and both of their inactive sons were there with there none
member girlfriends. We got to teach a small spiritual thought just
about God and they all participated in it which was really cool. We
had a great lunch (bread with blue cheese and garlic and all kinds of
stuff. So goood). After lunch we all were just talking around the pool
and talking and then the two sons thought it would be funny to push me
in. Haha it was pretty funny. I was obedient though and got right out.
It was tempting to stay for a bit... Haha I was soaked. But I think I
was able to really build a good relationship with the two of them and
we had lots of fun which was good. After that we went by the
Wichterman family to pick up a backpack for today for Elder Stomps. We
got there and they asked us if we wanted to play a round of Wizard and
so we did and then we played a round of dido dog as well and had
dessert and then we shared a fun activity/thought with the kids. It
was way fun. Today we are going back to Pizol because Elder Stomps saw
the pictures and really wanted to go so now we are headed back. Haha.
Then afterwards a member invited us to go to this Mexican restaurant.
Should be a fun day!! Only four more weeks here in
frauenfeld and I am actually already dreading that I am leaving. The
ward here is seriously already like family. They are just so open and
friendly and just great people. I am just going to love and enjoy the
time I do have left though. :) I hope you all had a wonderful week as
well. Love you!!

This week has been a good one and a pretty interesting one. Monday was
great and we had a really great last p day together. We got incredibly
sunburnt but it was worth it. We gained 2200 meters one way! Pretty
sweet! Then we went to Czieslas and had dinner and it was great. Then
on Tuesday we had district meeting and I taught about baptism and
helping people get to baptism. It is always fun to study all the
different topics and you always learn something new. But what I would
say what was for me the most important is that it is not that baptism
is honestly even the most important convenant we make it is just the
first and that's why it is focused on so much but it is just the
entering into the straight and narrow and there is still a lot to do
afterwards that is equally important. After district meeting we went
to Andres for lunch and Gmk. Afterwards he let us shoot his pellet gun
for a bit which was fun! Then we went to the klaumunzners and ate
dinner there and went to a big look out tower and climbed up it. It
was way cool. As we were hiking I was talking to sister klaumunzner
and she was so nice and offered to give Elder Mikulenka a new pair of
shoes before he left and we made a plan for her to come by in the
morning. Wednesday morning she came and gave him the shoes and he was
so happy it was like a kid at Christmas. It was really cool and nice
of her! Then we headed to Zurich for transfers. It is always fun with
all the changes and excitement and seeing everybody. Elder Mikulenka
met his comp pretty quick and they took off back to their area. Then I
waited until my comp showed up from Stuttgart. He finally showed up
and he is so tiny! Haha not in a mean way but he is so small. I feel
like it's my little brother that's older than me. We headed back to
our area and let him unpack a bit then Roger from Sankt Galen picked
us up to go BACK to Zurich to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. That
was really cool, we had Suveybe there with us (she is an old
investigator) and she really enjoyed it a lot which was awesome and
also the girlfriend from Nanu Klaumunzner was there. I met sister
Gehris during the intermission and got a very nice little package from
my family with some treats and some sweet letters in it! (Thank you
everyone that wrote letters) :) then the concert ended about 9:45 or
ten and then we got a ride home with the fuhrers. It was funny because
I saw somebody from Neumarkt that was only there my first transfer and
it was weird to actually speak semi okay German with him.

On Thursday
we had our first full day together as companions. Me and Elder Stomps.
He is a good guy. haha then we had an appointment
with an older couple and they were really nice. We will be meeting
with them again beginning of August. After the lesson we went and
played fussball with the YSA group and it was way fun. It was a
smaller group as usual because it's summer and so many people are gone
but it was still way fun. I have only been here for one transfer and
seriously I just love the ward so much. So many really cool just nice
caring people. I will be really sad to go this next transfer. On
Friday we did weekly planning which is always rough for me. Planning
is extremely boring but also very important. Then we went to the
church to download the new area book app. It is pretty cool but will
deffinatly take some time to get used to and also take a lot of time
to transfer all the records. Changing three records took me almost an
hour and we have hundreds of records. Haha then we went to Czieslas to
help them get rid of all their food before they go out of town... :)
then came home. On Saturday we went to wintertour and sang with the
sisters and a few people from the ward there at two rest homes. It was
so fun how happy it made the older people there. We sang some Swiss
German songs and man they sound crazy. Haha we also had to sing a song
in French. It was a lot of fun. We got to also give one of the members
a blessing because she is having foot problems. I always love having
the opportunity to give people blessings and knowing God is working
through me in that second. Then we got to find in wintertour for a few
minutes waiting for our train. Then we went finding in frauenfeld
again.

Also this week in frauenfeld was a big hip hop festival
(biggest one in Europe) and it was seriously crazy so many people were
here. The streets were just lined. I kinda felt like I was serving in
the hood with all these kinda scrappy people half naked blasting rap
music and the whole city just smelled like marijuana. It was
interesting and funny for a few days but I am happy it's over. Then on
Sunday we had church and it was really good. Nanus girlfriend came
with him and stayed all three hours. After church we went to
Klaumunznrs house and ate lunch and got talking with Nanu and Rahel
and she agreed to hear the first lesson. It actually went really well
and she asked a lot of questions. It was cool for Nanu to get to help
teach her and you could really feel the spirit especially when he
would explain something to her. Really cool lesson. Then we went
straight to fuhrers and had a BBQ with all the YSA, if you haven't
noticed we do a lot with YSA in frauenfeld. It's way cool! We had a
BBQ and played some games and did a little spiritual thought. It was
great. The game we played is when you have to talk and try to get the
others to guess what the word is without saying the word but we played
the extreme version where you get brownies and candies stuffed in your
mouth while you try to talk. Haha it was hilarious. Today we just went
to Konstanz to go shopping because it is WAY cheaper there and now we
are getting our hair cut. It was a fun chill P day. Hopefully we can
have a good week this week here and even more hopefully you all have a
wonderful week this week!! I love you all so much. Thanks for all that
you do!!

I hope you are all doing great and loving life!!
This week was good, really really slow again but good.

Tuesday we had district meeting which was great and then afterwards we
had exchanges. I stayed in Wetzikon with Elder Edvinsson. He was so
cool. I really loved the time we spent together. He is from Sweden and
is almost done with his mission. Just a really good down to earth guy.
We had a lot of fun. I had a pretty cool experience in a really weird
way while I was there. We had an appointment with this guy named Hans
and we show up and as we show up before we could even say a prayer he
pulls out his iPad and a envelope of papers and starts just rattling
of anti Mormon papers and trying to show how the Book of Mormon
contradicts the bible and just everything. It was a bible bashing
appointment to the max. But we just sat there and listened and it was
funny because honestly he knew the bible really well and honestly if I
had not have been on my mission and really began building a strong
testimony he probably could have convinced me I was wrong. But it was
so funny because there were so many things he said where I knew there
were scriptures in the bible that I knew and could show him but for
some reason I couldn't quite remember where they were and so I never
tried to fight back against him. But instead of feeling stupid and
feeling like maybe I was wrong. I just had the most comforting feeling
and The whole time with every word he said my testimony and knowledge
of why the church is true grew a little bit. At the end I was able to
bear witness of it and I told him what I had experienced. He didn't
like that and said we were lost forever in gods eyes. But I just
didn't care. I knew so strongly in that exact moment that I was
exactly where I was supposed to be and that this really is the true
gospel. It was really a testimony builder. After that we just headed
home and ate some dinner and laughed about it all and it was also
funny because right after we left the appointment I could remember
exactly where all those scriptures were. I just don't think I was
supposed to fight with him. Bible bashing is stupid because nobody
benefits and it's just lessons of anger and trying to prove who knows
there bible better.

Wednesday we just went finding for a bit and then exchanged back and I
came back to frauenfeld. Then we had a very slow day. We were trying
so hard but we just can't find anyone. Eventually we got invited to go
play soccer with the youth and so we went and taught a lesson
afterwards and there were a few non members there too so it was good.

Thursday we actually were pretty busy. We went to Sister Klaumunzners
school class and talked about where we are from. Everybody was very
excited to ask about America. It was pretty good. Even though they are
only like 15 so we won't really benefit but it was more service than
anything. Then we went to the Diethelms and had lunch and then did a
service project there for a few hours. Then we came back for
appartment checks and that took forever. They were there for literally
an hour and a half. It was such a waste of time. But then we went and
played soccer again with a big group of kids mostly non members and
got to teach a lesson again. We got one guys number and he said we
could meet again. So that was good.

Friday we made breakfast for the Czieslas and then we went finding in
Wil the whole day. We found 6 potentials that were really cool. Only
one of them lives in our area. :( that was a little sad. But still
people that will meet the missionaries.

Saturday we got our transfer calls and I will be getting a new comp.
his name is Elder Stomps. He is apparently the shortest missionary in
the whole mission (girls included) but it is funny because that means
I will have a different comp three transfers in a row. He is from
Holland I think. You'll hear more next week after I have met him. He
sounds a lot like Elder Harvy from what I have heard. Then after that
we had a stake soccer tournament and we played for our young men's
team. We actually did pretty good we ended up getting like 4th I
think. It was way fun though. Then we came back and met Selma and got
to teach her a little bit. She will be coming to the motab concert so
that's cool.

Sunday we went to church and it was testimony meeting. It was really
good. I really enjoyed it and then we also talked about being a man in
preisthood and I really liked it. It pretty much said that to be a
real man we need to ignore almost everything media tells us a man
should be. It was based on a talk from Todd D Christofferson. After
church we went to Sergio's house and man I had a headache there. The
mom and son speak Russian with another, the mom and dad speak Italian,
and we had to speak in German and they replied to us in English. Wow.
That was weird. Haha but still great. They were really cool. Then we
went straight to the Wichterman family. We were already so full but we
ate a lot anyways. Haha then after that we went to Sankt Galen and
slept at the Zone Leaders House.

Monday we were in a train at 5:12 headed towards Chur to go to a
mountain called Pizol. We got there at 6:40 and started hiking. We
were back by 5. We hiked/ran/slid/climbed a total of 37 K it was
crazy! I am so so dead now. But it was so so beautiful. I loved it. A
lot. I just love being in the mountains. But we also had a really
cool/scary experience there. We were hiking down and above us a guy
slipped and fell about 25-30 meters and was just rolling, he ended up
right by us and he was uncontious and pretty bloodied up. I got to use
the very few things I remember from Emr class and I stabilized his
neck and spine and called emergency services. We then just waited with
him till the helicopter came. Crazy. Hopefully he will be okay.

Hello family! I hope you have had a great week this last week! This

week for me has been full of ups and downs. Monday and Tuesday Elder

Mikulenka was sick and so we pretty much just sat at home and slept

and studied and caught up some records and stuff. Then on Wednesday we

got to help with a primary activity in the woods! That was way fun. We

were in charge of a station and we set up a bag of candy and chocolate

way up high in the trees (like when you go camping) and had the

"prophet" another kid tell them how they could get it. Haha it was

pretty fun. Then we got to grill some wursts and corn over the

campfire and then had to run as fast as we could to Alejandro and

Cecilias house and had dinner (I was freaking stuffed) then taught a

lesson with Cecilia. That was a full and fun day.

Then on Thursday we headed to bern to go to the TEMPLE!! That was

seriously way cool! I love going to the temple. And it was really cool

to do it all in German too, except since there were a bunch of people

from Chech republic they got mixed up and did the first part of the

session in czheckish I was sooo lost. (Luckily after that all normal

German). It was kinda funny though because elder mikulenkas whole home

ward including his family was there. So I met his dad and sister, I

think it might have been kinda hard for him though. I know it would

have been hard for me to see all of you and then have to leave again.

But we did our session and then we ate some lunch with the elders in

Zollikofen and Elder Mikulenka told them all the people they should go

by on. (He served there for 6 months.) and then we headed home and we

taught this super hippy guy on the train. That was pretty fun. He was

headed to a "burning tree festival" hmmmm... Haha then we just went

finding after that.

Friday we ate at a members house for lunch and it is this old couple

and they are so cool! Haha they have literally done everything! They

were telling me all the different ski tours they have done and which

mountains are the best here and all kinds of crazy stories. They had

just gotten back from a bike ride when we got there. They are like 65

or so. Way cool people. Then we talked with him for a while and

started talking about some pretty deep doctrine and I got lost. Haha

then we went finding for a bit and then had an eating appointment with

a family we met in the street. We asked them if we could meet and

teach them a lesson and they were just like yeah come on over next

week and we can have dinner together! Haha so we went and they were so

awesome. They were like 28 or 30 and have 3 kids and we got there and

they had made this huge fancy dinner and everything. We ate and talked

and had a good time. We taught the lesson of plan of salvation at the

end and they thought it was interesting but said they don't have

really any interest. It's hard because her parents founded a church

that they are SUPER active in. But seriously perfect family. They were

awesome either way. Maybe one day.

Saturday we had two appointments fall out and so we just found most

the day. Pretty long boring day but we made it good! Saturday's I

think are by far the hardest day on the mission haha.

Sunday was good we had church and it was "besuchersonntag" which is

just that we had a special musical number and food after church and

was just a day to give members the opportunity to invite a friend.

Church was really good, then we all ate together and we got to try to

talk to all the friends that came and hopefully we will meet with them

in the coming weeks. Then after that we helped clean up and then had

to back up and erase everything off of Elder Mikulenkas iPad because

president was bringing him a new one so we did that and then president

came and we got to just sit and talk for about 30 minutes which was

actually pretty cool. I like president a lot more when you get the

opportunity to just see the real side of him. Then we spent the rest

of the evening trying to get everything back onto elder mikulenkas

iPad and updating records. Me and elder Mikulenka had a really good

talk that hopefully will help us work even a little better together.

He is honestly really really hard on him self and he even was saying

he almost think it would be better if he didn't come on a mission

because his dad wouldn't having to be putting so much money into it.

He really is a very dedicated and hard working missionary but is

always so down on himself because he "could have done better" but

yeah. Hopefully we can work on it! He's a great guy.

Today we had district P Day and it was AWESOME!! Haha we had so much

fun. We hiked a mountain called Säntis. There is a cable car that goes

to the top but it is so much more satisfying to hike it!! :) we had to

cross like five very steep snow fields and lots of fun stuff. We also

found a snow chute and we went sledding on it and it was so much fun!

We had a really great time!! I really like my district right now! Then

we had a dinner appointment with Alejandro and Cecilia at the Fuhrers

house! It was really good and a really fun environment which is

important with Cecilia. We shared a spiritual thought on prayer. Also

on a side note Phillip Fuhrer invited me next Monday to do splits and

for Elder Mikulenka to go with Tim, his son. Then me and him are going

to go on a 100km bike ride together!! I am so beyond stoked! I miss

the bike. Great p day!! :)

This week was a little slow and we didn't get as much done as I wish

we could of but we are both healthy now and ready to work hard this

week. I love you all so much and I just want to say thank you to

everybody that has helped me in so so many ways! You are all the best!

I am so grateful to for this gospel and that we really can know that

mission isn't crazy.
Tuesday we had zone Conference which is really cool in Switzerland
because everybody in Switzerland comes together. That is pretty fun.
We talked a lot about motivation and how it is so easy to lose
motivation but that we need to keep working even in the days we don't
want to do stuff. We also talked a lot about the 12 tribes of Israel.
Pretty interesting stuff. We also found our we will be the first
mission in Europe that gets to test the Area Book app on our iPads.
That is going to be way nice but a TON of work. We literally have to
take every single record in the book back to 5 years ago and type it.
But hopefully it will be better! It is defiantly interesting though
being in Switzerland, because a lot of the European missionaries are
actually pretty bitter against the American missionaries now because
there is a chance of them being kicked out of Switzerland. It is kind
of sad how much it divides our mission. But there are a lot of people
that are really nice too. Hopefully after some time it will be a
little more united as a mission when the Americans are not so new. But
after Zone conference we came home and met the APs and had exchanges
with them the rest of the night and just went finding. I was with
Elder Tholan who is also from Utah. (Just like most missionaries). He
was way cool though. We had a good time.

Wednesday after studies we headed out to Sankt Galen for exchanges
with the Zone Leaders. I stayed in Sankt Galen with Elder Mateer. We
had three lessons that day. We first taught a married couple and it
went really really well. The husband was worried about that to him the
prophets in the Book of Mormon and Joseph smith and everything are
just people and it will be hard to really gain a testimony of it and
we were able to explain that if he really just has a strong foundation
on Christ (he does) then if he prayed about it he would know they
really are prophets of God. They really asked a lot of questions and
you could tell they really had the desire to know it and learn more.
We invited them to be baptized on the 30th of July and they said yes
if they were in town but if they are already gone then yes after the
vacation and they have received an answer. It was a cool lesson. Then
after that we went to another guys house and he at first didn't want
to meet with us but then I saw that he was watching a bike race and
started talking to him about that and which race it was and we got
talking and then he started telling me about this book he was reading
about the Mormons history (totally false) and I told him that there
was some confusion in what was written and we would love to answer any
questions he had and he invited us in. We talked to him for about an
hour and explained all the misunderstanding and he invited us to come
back another time. It was pretty good though. Then we got to go to
institute which was really good. We split into two groups and the one
taught the restoration and the other group taught the plan of
salvation. Met some cool people there!

Thursday we changed back and then we went and did a service project
and pulled a bunch of weeds and also got to get in a swimming pool to
retrieve a chair. Haha. After that we just went finding and didn't
have a ton of luck. There was one guy that answered the door and asked
if we were JWs we said no and then he was like good because if you
were I would have counted to ten and you would have been on the street
with or without my help. Haha he was an interesting guy.

Friday was a good day. We only had one lesson planned but then the
First Lady I talked to on the street agreed to sit down with us at a
cafe and hear the first lesson. It was really good she understood it
all and said she believed it could happen. She wasn't from our area so
we passed her on as a referral but still really cool. She was in a
hurry at the end though so I just bought her coffee for her so she
could go. Then we dropped by Rafael just to say hi and ended up having
an hour long discussion about the plan of salvation and reading from
the Book of Mormon and the bible and comparing doctrines. Then we had
a lesson with Mark. He was a way cool guy but honestly had no interest
but to meet and talk. Good guy though. Then the rest of the day we
just went finding.

Saturday we had a pretty slow day but we started it off by going to a
members house to talk about what we need to do for the primary
activity we are helping with on Wednesday. They had three dogs that
were seriously wolves. They reminded me of Carley(right?) the dog we
used to have when I was a tiny little guy. They were sweet! Then we
went dooring for a while and actually found a pretty cool family that
said they were not that interested but that we were welcome to come
back and share our message. So we will see. Then we got back to
frauenfeld and found an Bahnhof for a bit and found another family
that we talked to and the mother of the wife is actually the leader of
a different church but we asked if we could share this message with
them and the were like yeah for sure. Would you like to come to dinner
and share it with us next Friday? Haha they were way cool. I am
excited to meet with them again.

Sunday we went to Tina's house for breakfast. It was really good. Then
we all went to church together and at church I had the opportunity to
pass the sacrament with all the deacons. And also got to introduce
myself and bear a quick testimony. Then in the YSA class we talked
about a subject I really liked. We talked about the difference between
weaknesses and sin. Sin is from Satan, weakness is from God. God gave
us weaknesses for us to learn from and make progress. If none of us
had weaknesses there would have been no point in coming to earth. I
really liked the topic. Then after church we went to Pascal and
Celinas house and had a really good. We ate spring rolls and played a
WAY fun good called "Ohne Furcht und Adel" we played a round with them
and I liked it a lot. There are a lot of fun games in this part of the
world! Haha afterwards we had to take a language assessment and watch
a bunch of videos for the new area book app and then we went to
Alejandro and Cisilias house. Alejandro is a member and she is not.
Alejandro told us she doesn't want to hear "The lessons" but that we
can always give a spiritual thought. Which is good! They are both from
Argentina, Alejandro speaks perfect German and she speaks no German at
all. Haha everybody there spoke either Italian or Spanish which they
can understand each other and so they could all talk back and forth
and Alejandro translated for me. Haha but it was great. We had
Argentinian food which was just all meat. He told us salad is
unhealthy. Haha we had something called Empanadas. He said they are
super typical Argentinian food. They were pretty good! He is way
funny. Then we shared my favorite Mormon message which is called
"Vater im Himmel, Vater auf Erde" (father in heaven, father on earth)
in honor of Father's Day. I love this video because it really makes
you realize God is not just some distant powerful person rather he
knows every single one of us and loves and cares for us. Just like our
fathers here on Earth. If you get the chance you should all watch the
video if you haven't seen it yet. (I like the German one better)
hahaha the voice is cooler. But all languages the message is the same.

Today we are helping a guy with a little service project and Elder
Mikulenka is sick so we are just going to hang out all day and hope he
is better tomorrow so that we can work! The Elders from Kreuzlingin
are going to come down too and play some games together! Should be
good! I hope you all have a wonderful week this week and I love you
all!! Bye!!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
Man this week has just been crazy, saying goodbye to everybody,
packing, coming here trying to meet my new ward, understand this
dialect, everything! But it's been awesome!! My new companion is
awesome. He is from the Chech republic and is I think two transfers
older than me on the mission but speaks really good German. He also
speaks really good English but I help him a lot with his English and
he helps me with my German, Italian, and chechish. Haha okay just
German and Italian. We get along really well. It's kinda hard though
because now all the European missionaries see the Americans as kind of
a threat of being kicked out of Switzerland and so most the euro
missionaries don't like American missionaries. But you just have to
deal with it. Hopefully it will help bring the Americans and Europeans
together more as a mission rather than the Switzerland mission and the
Germany and Austria mission. I guess we will see.
Monday we pretty much spent the day just saying goodbye to members and
I also went and bought a couple things because it would be cheaper in
austria. Then Tuesday we had district meeting and Elder Samuelson and
I both got to give our testimonies which is always fun. Then we had a
district finding day in the pouring rain! But we were actually able to
talk to some really cool people! It was good! Then the rest of the day
was saying bye to people again and also doing sport abend! It was
actually so sad/funny we were in the parking lot of the church walking
towards the church and all of the sudden Andreas just falls face first
into this big hedge and can't get up but is just laughing so hard. I
helped him out and he was fine just laughing but the hedge was
wrecked. Funny last experience with him! But then I was up till about
12:30 packing and just getting ready to go.
Wednesday we went to breakfast with Bishop Roth and had a really good
time. He is a way good guy. Then it was off to Bahnhof we were there
for a while and Elder Kopishche showed me an email in Schweitze
Deutsch and I understood/recognized about two words.. I said goodbye
to Elder Jensen and everybody else and hopped on the train with
everybody else going to Switzerland. Me and Elder Cornetta rode
together. It was fun to catch up with him. He was transferred to biel
which is literally 1 hour away from his house by train. That would be
hard. But he'll do great. The train ride was sooo pretty. I went
though four different countries in about 6 hours. Austria, Germany,
Lichtenstein and Switzerland. It was really cool!! Then about twenty
minutes from Zurich I realized everybody else had already received
there tickets saying they will leave Switzerland in 90 days and I
didn't and we had to have it so I called the office and found out they
had bought and sent the ticket to the other Elder Hunter! Haha so he
was able to fix it and get it to me which was good!! We got to Zurich
and I found my companion and he pretty much grabbed my bag and started
running! We barely caught our train back and we got to frauenfeld and
got picked up by a member named Audrey and her brother Nathaniel. We
went home changed REALLY fast and went to play fussball with the youth
from our ward. It was so much fun and a good way to get to know some
of the ward. They were all really nice and spoke normal German with
me.

Thursday we did a lot of finding both dooring and on the street. We
actually were able to teach two people lessons right there as we met
them. Neither of them had further interest but still good! I really
like street finding a lot more than dooring. People actually talk to
you. Haha we met one lady and when I told her I was from Utah she was
soo stoked. She said she watched the Paralympics when they were in
Utah and I said I had a friend that races in the Paralympics and she
just started firing off questions. Pretty funny. She was really nice
and we will hopefully meet with her again. I really already love the
people here in frauenfeld. The mentality is just different and people
are willing to actually acknowledge that you are there. We have met
some cool people. I don't think it should be to hard to really love
the people here. We also ate dinner at our Gml Andres house and we
were able to really connect because he LOVES climbing. We talked
climbing for a bit and it was really fun!

Friday we ate at the klaumunzners and they are a really funny family.
They have six kids, and the mom is from the states so they all just
speak English at home. We had spheghetti and the whole time bruder
klaumunzner just was making fun of us. He's a funny guy. Then we
helped clean their house for a bit, it is a little messy. But they are
awesome. We just did the dishes and it took about 1 and a half hours.
Haha then we went by on brother Reisner (less active) and talked to
him and just bared testimony of the church and it was really good.
Then we did some more finding and then went to the Hartmans house. The
wife is actually from Hungary and she said that she thinks she might
know grandma and grandpa Bradshaw! Haha but we had a great time there
and for our spiritual thought we tried to make a family mission plan
and honestly it didn't go that well. That is something I really want
to work on here I think is member missionary work. Everybody likes us
and invites us for dinner and stuff but the excitement of missionary
work is very low. I talked about it with our Gml as well and he said
the same. So we will see what we can do.

Saturday we cleaned the church as a ward and it was a fun way to get
to meet a good group if the members. We cleaned for about 6 hours.
Then we went finding for about an hour and then came home for weekly
planning. And watched the testaments. My favorite lds movie. :) haha

Sunday we had a conference for Western Europe where a few general
authorities spoke. It was really good. There is a ton of focus on the
refugees and how big of a blessing it is that they are here where they
finally have the ability to hear about the gospel. It was a really
good conference. I met a lot more members and it was funny I was
talking to one member and I told him I was from alpine Utah and he was
like oh hey one of my old companions is from there and I kinda was
just like well I probably don't know him but who was it. And he was
like his last name is Shubin and I just started cracking up and I just
was like I have been dating his for a while! And he lost it. He was
like man I trained elder Shubin that means you're family! And we
talked about it for a while and he invited us over for dinner and we
had a great time. He actually had Jackson call him and then put me on
the phone and I don't think Jackson noticed me for a second. But then
he did! Haha it was good to talk to him for a second! Then we went
finding the rest of the evening and then headed to the zone leaders
house for a sleepover!!!

Then today we rode the train to Thusis and went and saw the viamala
schlucht and rode scooters to the top of a canyon pass to a church and
then rode our scooters back down! It was a pretty fun p day and the
weather was beautiful. Way cool!!

Liebe Grüße,
It's already Monday. Wow this week felt like it was over in the blink
of an eye. It's crazy how fast the weeks go by. Today we are going to
the eagles nest by Königsee which is hitters house shortly described.
It's up on top of a mountain with a beautiful view. But it's also I
decent drive there so we don't have a ton of email time this week so
it might be a bit shorter. But here we go. There were some fun things
this week and also some really cool things this week. Tuesday was a
crazy day, because Monday everything was closed since it was a
holiday, we had to do all our shopping and everything on Tuesday. So
we had district meeting which was good, then the Ehepaar made us
"lunch" something called the zoo. It was just a big bowl of ice cream
with a bunch of random sweets mixed in. I made us stop on the way home
and get a sandwich and then a made a green smoothie at home. Haha then
we had to hurry and get all our food and everything and get our hair
cut. The hair dresser guy was way cool and actually gave us a referral
which was good. Then we had dinner at Stefan Roths and then had sport
abend with Harry and Andreas and Tobias Dengg. That is always way fun.

On Wednesday we started off the day by taking a birthday present to
Frau Lissi which was just a picture of us with her with a little note
on the back and she was so excited. It was really funny. She then just
talked to us for a while. Showed us all her old stuff her and her
grandson used to use to grow marijuana.... She's great. Haha then we
met with Marek, then went by sister Huber and went for a walk with
her. Then came back and met with Sonja and talked with her about
Patrick. She said she is still just waiting for him to give her a good
answer as to why he wants to be baptized. Then we just went dooring.

On Thursday we had a pretty busy day which was way good! We started at
12 and met with Harry and had a good lesson with him, did some doors
the. Met with Andreas at 2 and talked about the talk why the church
from last conference and he asked some really good questions which was
way cool. Then we doored some more. Then we met with Horst at 6 and
sadly he was not feeling great (but hadn't drank all week.) and his
sister was not able to help him go shopping this week so we offered to
go to the store and buy him some of the essentials. I left him my iPad
and he watched meet the Mormons. He loved that so much. Then after
Horst Sonja invited us to come to a museum opening thing. It was kinda
cool. We just went to make her happy and keep a good relationship. We
just called it our dinner hour.

On Friday we helped set up for a big relief society thing and that
took all morning then we met with Patrick. We had a really good lesson
with him, he still hasn't said he wants to be baptized but we asked
him some pretty blunt questions like "do you believe Thomas S Monson
is a living day prophet?" Do you believe this is Jesus Christs church
restored back to the earth? Etc. and he said yes and gave really
strong testimony to all of them then it was interspersing at the end
he prayed and was saying thank you for our church here on earth and
for our prophet and apostles and for our ward. It was just funny, he
sounds like he is already a member. Then we came home and did some
weekly planning and then had dinner/ mission correlation at Benny
Malzls house. That was really good.

Saturday was way fun. We just did our studies then we put to the
Kellnersteinmetz for a day of service. We got there at 11 and we
started by power washing the pool and cleaning it out. Closest I'll
get to swimming for two years... Then we started up the grill and had
some Käsewürsts and fried zucchini and salad for lunch. Then Samuel
really put us to work. He had us take out a whole fence and move it
back about a meter so that it was on the actual border of their
property. Each post had a big block of cement on it that we had to dig
out and then dig a whole equally as big to put it back in. We worked
on that until 7:30 and then helped clean it all up and then they took
us to McDonald's (which is sooo much better here) and then we came
home.

Sunday was sooo cool in church. Ever since I have been here we have
been working with Harry trying to get him the priesthood and there was
always just something holding him back and making it just not happen
but this week he was finally ordained a priest. Bishop announced it in
sacrament and had him stand up and he just had the biggest smile ever.
He is such a good guy. I was/am stoked for him. Then after church we
went to the Kellnersteinmetz AGAIN for lunch (not complaining). We
made cordon bleu. And I have to say... We did a dang good job. Haha
and breaded mushrooms as well. It was a good lunch. They had invited
to non member friends as well and we got to teach a lesson. They were
really nice and listened and asked questions and everything. It was
great. Then we came home and did studies and finished weekly planning!

Now today we had a district p day and we went to the kehlstein haus.
(Eagles nest) sadly it was super foggy so we didn't get to see the
amazing view from the top but we did get to see a lot of really cool
historical stuff. We went through the WW2 museum and it was kinda cool
to listen to some of Adolf Hitlers speeches and actually understand a
lot of it. He was a very angry man. The history of ww2 is really so
sad. There was just so much evil. But it is good to learn about. Then
we went shopping and got all our food and everything now we are just
doing some emails!!

I had a great week this week and it is crazy to think there is only 1
more week in this transfer! And it was even a 7 week transfer. But
next week I will know if I get to stay here in Neumarkt for two more
or if I will be headed somewhere else! Guess we will see!! Hope you
all have a great week!! I love you all!!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter

The pictures are of 1)the fence we took apart and rebuilt, 2) the cutest little girl we got to spend all day with, 3)Harry (the newest priest in Gemeinde Neumarkt), and 4)the saddest text saying some members were cancelling on a hike early in the morning.
This week we were a little slow and didn't meet with as many people as
I wish we would have but we did honestly use our time well! It was a
good week for sure!

Tuesday we went into Salzburg for zone training! It is always way fun
to all come together and just talk and be together as missionaries.
You all just have a connection no matter how different you are. It's
cool to see! But it was a really good training. We talked a lot about
mastering the message and did a lot of things with that including a
test to see how well we know all the lessons and finding a scripture
that goes with each point without using anything. I need to work on
that a bit more.. Haha we also talked a lot about having the Holy
Ghost there and what we need to be doing to really have that. It
really was great! Then afterwards a bunch of us went to Burgerista to
eat some American food! Haha we all got burgers and fries and drank
lemonade! It was great! I talked a lot with a guy named Elder Kaufusi
(i think I butchered his name) BUT he is way cool. He has a
scholarship at BYU to play football once he gets home, and he is just
super cool and a fun guy to be around. His brother just barely signed
with the Ravens. Haha I don't follow football much but that's still
pretty cool! Then we went back to Bahnhof to head home and we saw
Horst at Bahnhof, sadly he was super drunk and almost didn't even
recognize us. But we talked to him and helped him get to his train and
got him on his way home. After he realized it was us you could tell he
was really ashamed. He is trying so hard but he just needs to keep
going. We're on his side! Haha after that we had just area book work,
studies, and calling then we had sport abend! It was way fun this week
and we had a good lesson and played some füßball and it was way fun.
Right as we were about to leave Tobius was like hey look and he showed
me his phone and Harvey was there in Skype!! Haha I was kinda bad and
talked to him for a second and just saw how he was doing. But it was
way cool to see him again and catch up for a few seconds. He is a good
guy!

Wednesday we met with Tomara in Salzburg and talked to her about the
plan of salvation and just talked about it and read some scriptures. I
don't really feel a ton of true intent from her but we will keep
trying a bit longer. Then we came back and helped Frau Lissi. That is
always fun! Haha then we did some dooring in straßwalchen and nobody
was really interested but we had some great discussions. Then we went
to Markus Malzls house with Harry and Andreas like we normally do on
Wednesdays and it went well! We had a good time. We taught them about
personal revelation and then talked to Harry about him talking to
bishop about reciving the priesthood. Then we played ping pong! I am
so bad at ping pong it's ridiculous. Hahahah but I have a great time
doing it and we have lots of fun! Elder Jensen slammed into what he
though was the wall and ended up shattering a glass light fixture.
Hahaha that was funny.

On Thursday we just had two appointments and a lot of finding planned,
then the weather went from raining to a straight shower to crazy
hail!! Haha we were driving down the road and it was like a river and
you couldn't see anything!! Haha it was pretty funny and pretty
awesome. Luckily right as we went to go finding it died back down just
a little bit. And we found the rest of the night in the rain! I
actually kinda enjoyed it though! It was a good finding method! People
felt bad for us and would talk to us! Haha everybody thinks we are JWs
though!! Haha we found a few potentials though which was really
awesome. We met with Horst as well and he is trying so hard. We read
in the Book of Mormon and just saw how he's doing.

Friday we had our correlation meeting and that went really well! Then
we met with Patrick and we were really hoping this would be THE
lesson. We taught about baptism and had bishop there and had a really
good lesson but he's still just not quite ready. But the whole lesson
he was quoting articles of faith and talking about the general
conference talks he watch and it was crazy. Haha this kid is TEN!! But
he has a really good knowledge of everything I think he just really
needs to receive a answer that this is what he needs to do. Then we
found for a while and then went to the Brunners house, they have 3
crazy little boys and a brand new baby girl. The kids are so funny and
so loud! I loved it! We shared a short thought and then talked for a
while and headed home!

Saturday we played basketball with the members and had a lot of fun
then we went and gave Horst a sick blessing. It is really cool how
much faith he has in the power of the priesthood. Then we went finding
for a few hours with not a ton of success but we covered a lot of
ground! Just got to sort out the people who are ready and who needs a
little more time. Then we came home and did our studies and weekly
planning the rest of the day!

Sunday we had a great day at church, we taught the lesson in the
investigator class and talked about the signs of the second coming and
it is crazy as you study all of that you realize the seriously almost
all of them have already happened or are happening! It was a really
good lesson though and it was really cool for me to study too! Just
goes to show you want to ALWAYS be prepared! Then after church we went
to the Kellnersteinmetz and had a grilling party, he just let us pick
whatever meet we wanted and throw in on the grill! It was so good and
we ate sooo much haha it was awesome. After that we came back to the
church to help set up for the baptism of two kids in the ward! It was
really good!

Today is a holiday so nothing is open and it's really rainy outside so
we are just chillin at the church playing games and emailing all day!
Haha just a day to relax! It was a good week and I hope you all had a
great week as well! Love you all so much!!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
On Tuesday we had district meeting which was way fun because we
celebrated all the elders in our districts birthdays because they were
all within a week of each other. Three of them being on the same day.
Haha pretty funny coincidence. But before we celebrated we had a
really good meeting, we talked a lot about becoming "masters of the
message" which just means really being able to understand and know the
message we are sharing so that as we try to share it with others we
really understand it ourselves and can bear real honest testimony. I
talked about a little bit different part of it that I found in preach
my gospel that intrigued me. It said that as we teach the
understanding of the people we teach will be influenced by our own
personal worthiness. I found that really interesting and honestly
something I didn't really think about. But if we are not worthy of the
Holy Ghost then the real teacher is not there and nothing is truly
"learned". It was interesting to think about. Then we had a great time
going by our good old Marek. We taught him about the priesthood and he
liked that a lot. I guess he had never learned much about it... Haha
good thing to be taught. Then we had sport abend and played fußball.
On Wednesday we had a really interesting day. We woke up did our
studies then went into Salzburg to teach a girl named Tomara. The
lesson went well. It was nothing special just a good lesson. Then we
came back to meet with Sonja who had called us the day before saying
she really needs to talk to us about something so we were obviously
curious as to what it was. We met with her and she told us the Patrick
told her he wants to be baptized. Which is amazing but she is worried
he has the wrong motivation for it. She said if it is for the right
reasons then she supports him but that she needs to see that first.
She is worried he only wants to be baptized so that he can become a
deacon. Which is awesome that he excited about that. But we need to
just talk to him and see where he is really at. We decided we will
just go through the interview questions with him and see how sincere
he is about it. It's hard to really judge with a ten year old kid. We
will see. Then we had a lesson that a old investigator actually set up
for us and she is a English teacher and we were really excited about
it but then Frau Jerey made us teach it is English to a guy that
speaks fluent German and barely understands English. We soon figured
out she was just using us as her teachers for his tutoring session.
That was kind of annoying but whatever. We gave him a Book of Mormon
and at the end bore quick testimony in German that he understood and
hopefully he got something from it. Then we did finding the rest of
the day! We found one really solid potential named terra. We will see
where that goes!

On Thursday we had a pretty interesting day. We were invited to the
stake sport day in Salzburg. We went and were able to bring a new
member and an investigator (Harry and Andreas) and we played sport
from 10-4 o'clock. Haha we played 4 straight hours of fußball, I did a
little training session with a few members training for an ironman,
then we slack lined for a bit. It was way fun hanging out with the
members and meeting the rest of the stake in a fun way like that. Also
way good to get an investigators there having a ton of fun! Great pre
birthday party!! Haha after that we came home and met with a less
active member and then met with Fabian and had a really great lesson
on the plan of salvation. I really see him making a lot of progress. I
am just waiting for it all to click for him. He's a great kid.
Then the birthday! Friday! Haha how often do you get companions that
have the same birthday at the same time of their birthdays!! It was
way fun haha. We celebrated together. We opened a few packages in the
morning and read letters from family and friends. The letters are
always the very best part. Then Frau Lissi called us and told us she
made us some birthday brunch. So we went and ate and talked with her.
She gave me some cloths from her cousin that he gave to her... Haha
then we went to the top of a big hill to do our studies before going
and playing füßball with Harry and teach him a lesson. We had a great
time and great lesson. Then we did weekly planning for a bit, called
some people, went finding, then went to a members house for dinner.
They grilled a bunch of meat for us! Steak, käsewürsts wrapped in
bacon, ribs, corn, potatoes, and Kool aid! Haha they spoiled us! And
the whole time I just got to play with their little girl named Tara
who is just a year and a half old and the funniest/cutest girl ever.
Then they gave us both a t shirt with part of the Austrian national
anthem on it! Way cool! Then Sonja surprised us with a birthday cake
and a couple presents! Haha she is too nice! To bad the cd she gave me
doesn't have any church songs... Haha some sweet German rap though!
Good for when I get home! German rap is the coolest! Haha then she
also gave us some aloe plant because we both got very burnt this
week... Very. Haha it was an AMAZING birthday.

Saturday we met with Andreas and had a great lesson about the tree of
life and what it means exactly and related it to out lives today and
then I rode his unicycle for a bit which was way fun. Then we went and
visited Horst and went over his reading plan and what he had read
between last time and this time and discussed it all and all the main
points, then we read a chapter together and talked about it. Me and
Elder Jensen both have the feeling we need to talk to him about
forgiving his parents which is going to honestly be really a very
sensitive subject because his parents were horrible to him. I don't
honestly think I could say I would forgive them ether. But we both
have gotten the feeling that is really what is holding him back. So
hopefully we can talk about that and really have the spirit help us.
He is such a good guy and literally the happiest most friendly guy in
the world. He just has had a crazy hard life. But then we went to the
Denggs house and celebrated our birthdays and also Michael Denggs
birthday who was also on the 6th. There family is so awesome. I love
them!

On Sunday it was Mother's Day! One of the days all missionaries look
forward to! Haha we had a great day at church, a very busy day but a
very good day! We were supposed to teach the investigator class but
then someone asked us to teach one of the primary classes for a bit
and so Elder Jensen taught the investigator class and I taught the
primary class. I defiantly got the best part! I got to hang out with
them for about a half hour and teach about missionary work and do a
few simple role plays, then I went back to the investigator class and
translated for the English speakers in the class. Then after the class
two of the kids ran into the room and jumped up onto the chair next to
me and gave me a big hug and one kissed my cheek. Haha very unexpected
but it was so funny. There are so many kids in this ward. I love it.
Then we got to help out in primary for third hour! After church we
went to the Albrechts house and had lunch and talked with them and
gave a spiritual thought about mothers and then we went to the church
to talk to our families on Skype! It was so much fun to talk to
everyone and see that everybody was doing so well and hear all your
voices and see all your faces! 2 of 4 calls home are already done!
Crazy! Haha

Today we just did our shopping the. Went and hiked Drachenwand again
because it's way cool and elder Jensen had not done it yet! It was way
pretty than we visited Horst on our way back and now we are about to
go to a members house for dinner!! Great week!
Liebe Grüße,

M and talked to him and taught him about missionary work and how

he can be a member missionary. Then we actually took him with us to

our appointment with Horst and I don't know how good of an idea it

was.... Haha we got there and M just started going hard on H

asking him if he drinks and if he smokes and how much every day and

etc etc. we finally had to just tell marek to stop because we are just

working with H with the 12 step recovery program and reading

through the Book of Mormon. After we got marek under the reigns then

it was okay but wow. Haha M... What a guy. Then after that we ate

at the family of S R house and had a really good time and ate

some good schnitzel. Then after that we went to meet a potential I had

called that was just in our phone and he said he would love to get

some coffee with us so we met him at a bakery and drank some apple

juice and we talked and just got to know him and just very

subtly worked into the restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. He

was way cool and pretty open to it all so hopefully he will let us

meet with him again.

Then Thursday was crazy. We had our district meeting and president

interviews in Salzburg and then training. It was a long time. Haha but

it was way good! In district meeting we talked a lot about the

creation and also with working with our wards. I talked about what I

have been reading in the Book of Mormon. I have been reading in mosiah

about king Benjamin and for me when I read that story and what he says

it really just makes me realize how unimportant I am to the plan and

everything but how important we all our to God. He doesn't need us in

any way shape or form but he loves us and cares for us more than we

can even comprehend. I really had to try and have a humble mind while

reading it all. I love that story. But then we did a few role plays

and it was great. It was great also to meet with president again.

Since I have been here things have been kinda crazy so this is only my

second interview with president but it was really good. We just talked

for a bit about how the works going in Neumarkt, companion, language,

etc. Then he talked a bit about how we are losing more missionaries

than we are receiving and so we are having to close down temporarily

some areas and that it makes transfers really hard. The way he was

talking to me about it I think I will probably be in Neumarkt for two

transfers after this one. But I'm not sure! We will see. Then in

training we just talked a lot about how we need to be better about

having a plan for our investigators right from the start and that that

plan should be an open thing. Not something the missionaries should be

doing in secret. We want our investigators to know our end goal and

everything. Then after that we went and got food with a few other

missionaries and went to aganigi naginigi. Then we drove to Mondsee

and had a lesson with a potential me and Elder Erickson had found the

week earlier. He is really new here and he is from Greece. He is way

cool and his name is Er. We had a REALLY good lesson with him and

hopefully we will meet with him again this week. Then we went to the

church to help set up for tanzen im Mai. This ward goes so so hard on

their activities. It is really incredible. They put in hours and hours

of effort.

On Friday we did a service project for Frau L again and helped her

carry a bunch of wood into her barn then we also drilled a bunch of

holes in a big Metal wall for her. Then she made us some really yummy

crepes and we talked with her for a bit. Then we told the ward we

could help finish setting up for the dance and thought we would be

there for maybe two or three hours but ended up being there for about

8 hours setting up and then the part that took the longest was making

175 burger patties. And they all had to be exactly 150 grams. Haha

pretty funny. Then we finally finished and went home for about an hour

showered and changed and did some weekly planning then went back to

the church to help again at the actual dance. It was so funny they

wanted to cook the burgers on a coal grill and were wanting to eat at

8:30 and they were just like okay we will start lighting the coals at

8. Me and Elder Jensen were just like ummm let's start lighting them

at at least 7:30. They all were like noo that's way to early and we

just said better safe than sorry and we showed up at 7:20 and started

setting up the chimneys to light the charcoal and they literally had

no idea how it worked. It was hilarious. Really annoying too though.

They were trying to light the charcoal with a lighter.... The kept

trying to do that until about 7:45 then they started freaking out

because they realized it was taking longer than they thought and

started stressing then they kiddingly were like where are the Eagle

Scouts when we need them and me and elder Jensen both were just like

we are right here... Haha then me and elder Jensen

taught them how to use a chimney and got a good fire going underneath

it and got the bottom coals going good then they grabbed it and dumped

it back out into the grill because "it was ready" haha they didn't

know how it went. But we eventually got it good and going strong. Then

we grilled all the hamburgers we made ate a few then had to go home at

9:30. But the dance went all the way until 2 which is crazy. The

activities and stuff here are so much different than they are at home.

Then on Saturday we did our weekly planning, called people to find

rides for investigators, then we taught A and committed him to

talk to his mom about what we believe. Then we met with sister H

and we were kind of tight on time but for some reason me and elder

Jensen both felt we needed to cancel our next appointment and just go

on a walk with sister H and push her in her wheelchair. We didn't

know why, but we did. We had a great time and she was so so thankful

as always. Then we went by to C and she was way stressed so we

just said we could come back next week then we did some dooring until

it was time to go home.

Then on Sunday we had a great day. We went to church and I was asked

to give the opening prayer and then we had testimony meeting and it

was really cool there was a very common theme of the Book of Mormon in

almost all the testimonies. H also went up and gave his testimony

which was kind of a shock but we were way stoked. But then after the

sacrament meeting bishop came up to us and told us that sister H

is in the hospital and they are not sure what it going on and it is

not looking good. I have never been so happy that we canceled on

someone before in my life. I really hope she can pull through but it

felt really good to know we had made her day the day before. Pray for

sister H. She is the nicest lady. But then we went to Benny makzls

house and had lunch and had a great lesson there then We came back and

did studies then we went to the Lerchners house which was way fun. We

had a really good lesson about the atonement there and it was really

awesome the

n We just sat and talked for a while. They are the best!!

Well one of the best. I just love this ward.

Today it was super foggy so we just hiked to this church on top of

This week was great a little crazy but way good. We started off with
just a super chill p day the weather was bad so we just shopped and
everything and then emailed and played some German games. Germany is
super famous I guess for their games! There are some really fun ones!!

Then on Tuesday we had Zone Training which was really good. We talked
a lot about working with and through the members which was really good
and me and Elder Jensen had a pretty big part of it explaining what we
have been doing in our ward and how amazing it has been. Our ward is
incredible with missionary work. We have started asking members when
we are invited for dinner if we can bring an investigator or a less
active member and teach them after. Lately the members have been
asking US if we can bring a less active or investigator to their house
and even a few taking it completely on themselves and just asking for
their number and inviting them without us. It has been really cool to
watch. But them after training we were able to have a zone party for
another 5 hours because as a mission we reached our baptism goal and
Salzburg had the biggest amount so we got to have a party and we
played füßball and frisbee and the field was super wet and muddy and
we all got wrecked... Then we barbecued some Bratwursts and made Kool
aid that elder Jensen had received in the international ward and all
talked and had a good time. Then we came back to Neumarkt had a member
appointment then had sport abend in our ward... We played sport a lot
on Tuesday... But we always teach at the end of sport abend!! :)

Then on Wednesday we did our studies then went straight to Salzburg to
start our exchange with the Zone leaders. I was with Elder Erickson
our new zone leader and we stayed in Neumarkt. It was fun to get to
know him and work with him. We did some street contacting and dooring
in Mondsee and found a girl that at first seemed really genuinely
interested but as the conversation went on realized she just wanted
money and once we said as missionaries we are not allowed to give
money and right after we said that she changed from this sweet girl to
such a brat.. But, I still feel bad. It's always hard knowing that
somebody is in a hard situation and not be able to help. That was my
first real experience thus far with any refugees really. We teach a
few but they are all pretty established and not struggling to bad.
Then we went to a members house with Harry (new member) and Andreas
(investigator) who are best friends and Harry introduced us to
Andreas. We ate dinner then talked about the Word of wisdom. Andreas
already followed it without even knowing it. Haha he is awesome. Then
we played some tischtennis.

On Thursday we were supposed to meet with a hopefully new investigator
but sadly she forgot about the appointment so we just left a note and
she called us later and said she was so sorry and made out a new
appointment which is good!! Then we had our aus wertungs Gespräch. I
don't know what they are called in English but it's when we basically
just conduct a comp inventory of the exchange and talk about what the
other is good at and maybe something he can work on and talk about the
goals we set for the tausch. It was really good and it is always nice
to get some feedback and know what you can work on. Then me and elder
Jensen had the rest of the day and we just met with a few people then
ate dinner at Sonjas house.

On Friday we just did a lot of finding and taught Patrick which went
really good. It was a really powerful lesson and he really understood
and I think felt the spirit. I know I did! Then we did a service
project for Frau Lissi and I stood on a sketchy ladder and cut a bunch
of big branches out of a tree and then we moved and aired out two HUGE
piles of compost. It was some good work! Haha then she cooked us her
little treats she always makes us which is pretty much a jelly
sandwich with her homemade marmalade dipped in eggs and rum (alcohol
free because she knows we can't have alcohol), then deep fried. They
are really good!! She always makes us like 3 big plate fulls haha.
Then she also gives us her homemade "strong juice" haha it is just her
mix of a bunch of berries and different things from her garden and it
tastes pretty gnarly but you feel healthy that's for sure. Haha

Saturday we were at home the whole day because Elder Jensen was sick
(the service was to much for him) haha no he just had a bad cold but
bishop was way nice and brought us schnitzel and Almdudler for lunch
and I got some great studies in. I love reading in the institute
Manuels. It just lays things out and puts things together really
simply and powerfully. They are good!!

Sunday was way cool we had church which is always good, then we had a
lunch appointment and had schnitzel again haha. Then we went to
Salzburg for the baptism of Marco who is the boyfriend of a girl in
our ward who was less active but is now coming back and started
meeting with the missionaries less than a month ago. I had the
opportunity to teach him twice as well which was way cool to see
somebody I got to work with a bit be baptized. He is way cool and
hopefully he really stays on this path! Then we were supposed to have
a lesson with Fabian who is the brother from Kevin D in our ward.
But sadly he forgot and so we ended up just teaching/discussing the
plan of salvation with Kevin and also Toby. Toby is an 18 year old in
our ward that we invited to be a joint teach. He is really awesome.
That I something else we want to start doing is inviting the youth
that are close to mission age to come as joint teaches and get excited
about the work. But it was really good and Toby is excited to come
with us again to a real lesson!!
Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
appointments accounting for the whole day. I think we ate more food
than I have my whole time here. Haha everybody just wanted to get one
last time with Elder Harvey in and I wasn't complaining.. Haha we
enjoyed our last few days together and I am gunna miss good old
Harvey. On Wednesday morning we woke up and pretty much just finished
helping him pack his stuff then we headed to Bahnhof and waited for
the train to Salzburg. It was really weird and kinda sad knowing it
was the end! But we got to Salzburg and Harevey got on the train to
München and I had to wait at Bahnhof for about 6 hours waiting for my
new comp to get there. We did some finding and got lunch in Salzburg
with everybody else that was waiting for their new comps as well.
Finally the train came and I got my new companion! Elder Jensen. He is
from Wisconsin, loves the Packers, nicknamed the bear. He wants to run
every morning and so far we have. It's been good. The first few days I
was a little worried cause he was pretty quite and I didn't know how
that would be but he is opening up now and I think we will honestly
have a really good time. I think we will be able to get some really
good work done. The only problem is he loves area book work and I hate
area book work.. But it will be good for me to learn to like it. Haha
I would just much rather be out actually with the people talking to
them and creating relationships. It's hard to create relationships
over the phone. But hopefully we can get a good mix going.

It has been interesting taking over the area and helping Jensen
understand all the situations of our investigators and introducing him
to everyone. He will do great here. We decided we want to really
emphasize working with members and also trying to help the less
actives in the ward. Hopefully it works well. We will see. This week
has pretty much just been setting up appointments with our
investigators and introducing them to Jensen.

We also found out me and Elder Jensen have the same birthday. Haha we
have been doing a lot of calling and a lot of dooring. I push for the
dooring and he pushes for area book work and it equals out pretty
okay!

We were dooring yesterday and we came across this one lady and she was
like sorry I am eating now and I am a very devoted Catholic and went
to go back inside the. Turned back around and said hey are you guys
Mormons? And we were like yeah we are! We are missionaries from the
lds church! And she was like oh I thought you were JWs I was in Salt
Lake City and I loved the Mormons. They celebrated Easter so
amazingly! They were all such good people there! " if I wasn't a
Catholic I would defiantly be a Mormon. Have a good night!" Me and
elder Jensen were like wait you can change your religion.... Haha it
was funny but sadly she was set on not talking. Maybe we will try
going back another time.

There was another guy named Franz that we met dooring in a tiny
farming dorf and he answered the door and was really nice except you
could tell he was a little distraught we told him who we were and what
we were doing and he was like yeah no I am okay I am happy with my
religion blah blah blah but then we started talking about just the
role of religion in life and he got into it and he was like yeah
everybody needs religion, then he kinda got a little quieter and told
us he thinks his neighbor has an evil spirit. His neighbor randomly
came over one day and pointed at his new bush he planted and said it
will wither and die and that night it happened and he was really
freaked out. We talked a little about it and offered to say a prayer
with him at first he was hesitant but then he was just like okay. So
we did and it was really powerful. We said amen he said amen then he
just said thank you kinda Geary eyed and we asked if we could come
back at another time and he said no but we gave him our card and said
if he ever needed anything to call. He was very thankful. It just goes
to show not everybody will accept the gospel or our message right away
but it can still bless them before they even accept it. Maybe he will
realize it and give us a call.

My new favorite section in preach my gospel is the " Christlike
Attributes " section. You go through it and you realize how much stuff
there is that we "I" can work on. That is one of my goals I decided
for this transfer (and for life) to really focus on working on and
practicing those loving and out reaching traits. If we are always able
to turn outward to others rather than inwards to ourselves we will be
much happier.

Neumarkt is awesome. I love this area. I have it so good here. Such a
good ward, beautiful area, good companion, what else could I ask for??
Well I guess I will ask we can find a few more people. But that will
come with hard work! :) okay I hope everybody has an amazing week!! I
know I will! Love you all! Good luck to everybody finishing up and
taking finals in school!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
This week was not super productive but we tried our best. But first
I'll just say what our week was. The week Neumarkt changed to a bike
area. Okay now the background. A while ago before I was here they had
a small car accident that we still needed to fix but hadn't got around
to yet. We finally took it in and they said it would be three days. So
we called the sisters if we could borrow their bikes for the week. At
first we were stoked. We had a lesson in Eugendorf that night and
started riding there. About 1/3 of the way there my tube EXPLODED. It
literally sounded like a bomb. Haha we had no tools or an extra tube
so we had to call a member to take us there. We were about 15 minutes
late. We had a really good lesson with a members non member little
brother and his girlfriend. At the end of the lesson they asked how we
were getting home and offered to take us to Bahnhof and checked when
the next bahn was it was in 5 minutes so he hurried and jumped up and
sped us to Bahnhof on the way out the door I asked how far it was and
he laughed and said about 4 minutes away. Haha. Sad,y we missed it and
the next bahn didn't come till 9:30 so we did our daily planning there
at Bahnhof and waited for the bahn. Then on the bahn there was a
member that offered to take us back to our bikes, we figured that
would save us a lot of time the next day so we did and we rode on the
same bike with me pedaling and Harvey sitting on the seat with the
other bike on his shoulders. People laughed really hard. It was pretty
great. We didn't get home till 10:30 and went straight to bed. The
next day we spent about 3 hours trying to find a bike shop and finally
found one and walked in right at 12 and they closed at twelve. They
were nice though and helped us out. Finally fixed the bike then went
on about our day but the chains fell off every five seconds. Elder
Harvey got sooo frustrated with it. We rode about half of Thursday and
then he lost it and we rode back and he just went and laid down for a
bit. I said a prayer that we would be able to get some work done and
that elder Harvey would be happy and get over it. About 5 minutes
later the people called us saying our car was done. That was really a
blessing. We were then able to be much more effective and went and
visited Horst in Irrsee. We also got 100 percent on our cleaning
inspection again and they said out apartment is the cleanest apartment
in the mission. They took pictures and are sending them to the mission
office. Haha!

We also got transfer calls on Saturday. I will be staying in Neumarkt
and my new companion is coming from the Office. His name is Elder
Jensen. He is from Wisconsin and was trained by the same missionary as
elder Harvey. He also only has two transfers left which means I will
either stay here for only one more transfer or else I'll be here for
three more. We will see! Either way will be great!

With Elder Harevey leaving this week we have had so many member
appointments these next two days we literally have an eating
appointment every meal of the day. On Sunday we fasted then we had
Potluck after church which is when the whole ward eats together, after
that we visited Cassandra and she insisted on giving us schnitzel,
then the Kellnersteinmetz invited us over for Helens birthday to have
cake and ice cream, then we went straight from there to the Lerchners
for dinner. Wayyyy to much food. Haha
Today we had district p day and just went to St Wolfgang and hung out
and got lunch and played at this park with Giant swings! It was pretty
fun!!
I am sad to see elder Harvey go but am also excited to work with Elder
Jensen. I know I can learn a lot from him! I am looking forward to
this week!! I hope you all had a great week and that we have now been
trying to APPLY what we have learned last week in Conference!! I love
you all. Tschüss!!!
Oh also a joke. What do you call a blind German? A Nazi. Haha okay I
thought it was funny. Have a great week!!
Liebe Grüße,
This week was great!! I really learned a lot and we had a lot of good
successes as well! On Tuesday we had district meeting which was
awesome and then we did a district finding day again which is always
way awesome and you always learn so much. Then after that we started
our exchange and this time I was with Elder Samuelson in Salzburg. It
is such a different experience being in a city without a car. It was
really awesome. We were the classic missionaries sprinting across the
city to get to Bahnhof in our white shirts and ties because we were
about to miss the train. We thought a couple really good lessons one
in German and one in English. It was interesting teaching a lesson in
English and seeing how well I actually know the lessons and doctrines
and not having the language barrier limiting what I can say and
expound on. So that was cool. Then as we walked from placebo place we talked
to every person we passed which was a cool experience that we don't
get very much of in my area because we just drive from dorf to dorf.
But then in the morning me and Elder Samuelson went for a nice run
along the river in Salzburg which was awesome except I forgot my socks
and so then I got two awesome blisters on my arches haha. It was a
really good exchange and it was awesome again to get to learn from a
more experienced and really awesome missionary.

And then on Wednesday I would say we had one of the best days we have
had in Neumarkt. We started the day with an awesome lesson with a new
investigator named Mileva. Gerald Roth came with us (old mission
president) we went completely differently than we planned and went
from talking about the purpose of life to the word of wisdom and
baptism. Haha. It went really well though. She committed to half the
amount of cigarettes she smokes a day. We told her whenever she feels
like she needs help to call us and she has a few times so I think she
is really trying, and she also came to conference. Then we had a lesson
with another new investigator named Llama and had a really good lesson
talking about God and who he is and how we can communicate with
him through prayer. He is Buddhist but believes there is more and he
has two sisters that have become Christian. Then we taught Horst which
is always simple but good then we went to read with sister Huber and
we offered to help her outside because it was really a beautiful day.
She was so excited and said yes! We took her outside to read and then
pushed her around Neumarkt in her wheelchair for about half an hour
and later she told us she hasn't been outside in 4 months. She was so
thankful and it was really touching.

Then we had a lot of service on Friday. We helped Fabrizio move in the
morning to Salzburg in the stadt. Then we helped Frau Lissi with a bunch
of trees and stuff in her yard, she is crazy haha she will just like
point at the tree and say cut that but then not say which branches she
wants us to cut but then she is super picky about which branch you cut
and where on the branch you cut. But it was good and she appreciated
it. Then we helped another family move with the ward. There were about
fifteen guys there from the ward. It was really impressive. The family
is not a member family so they are not a potential family and they said
we could come back anytime. So we will see.

Then Saturday we went out to Mattsee to go by a potential we got but
we knocked on the door and the husband answered and saw us laughed and
closed the door before we even could say anything. Haha maybe we'll
try going back again later and hope the wife answers the door again.
But then we just continued dooring with no luck. Which is okay, we
tried! Then after doing that for about 2 hours we decided we deserved
an ice cream. Then we headed back to Neumarkt and then went and taught
Cassandra. She was making good progress for a while but now she is
very stagnant and almost even going backwards. She says she doesn't
feel like she is good enough because she never remembers all the
things she is supposed to do until she is worried and needs comfort or
something then she remembers to pray and read. Her life is just crazy
right now she is 18 has a kid, works the night shift at a bar, trying
to help her parents find jobs, it's pretty crazy. But we'll keep
praying for her and trying to help her. Then we had the first session
of Conference. It was really good from what I could tell.. We had a
couple investigators there that we needed to stay with and so we had
to stay in the German translation, I understood bits and pieces but
didn't get as much as I wish I did. I'll just have to read them this
week!!

On Sunday we got to listen to priesthood session, Saturday afternoon
and Sunday morning sessions. Conference as a missionary is crazy. Haha
you are trying to help investigators but also just trying to listen.
I'll reread a lot of talks. But one talk that really stuck out to me
was Dale G Renlund. I really liked how he talked about the farther away
from Christ we are the more we feel like we deserve to be saved and
deserve to have a testimony, but as you come closer to Christ you
start to realize that all of those things are giant blessings that
honestly most the time I don't even feel like I deserve. On my mission
I can really say I have felt this. Before my mission I had the
attitude of I deserve a testimony why is it not as strong as I want it
to be and honestly getting frustrated that my testimony was not as
strong as I would want it to be. But on my mission I have realized as
we just try to come closer to him it comes so much stronger and you
start to realize where it actually comes from. So I liked that talk a
lot.

Then today we went and hiked a mountain called Drachenwand. It was way
cool and had a super cool view at the top!! It was a way fun p day.
Last of two with Elder Harvey... Who will be next..?

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
finally neither of us are sick. We had an amazing p day last week
which I already talked about last week so I'll not talk much about
that, then Tuesday we had Distrikt meeting and I got to talk a little
bit about promising people blessings and it went really well. It is so
cool to realize that we really can promise people blessings. And there
are so many blessings we can promise. But then we did some finding and
then went to Marcus Malzls house with Andreas and Harry and ate dinner
and then taught them about the preisthood. We are working really hard
with Harry to prepare him for the preisthood. Then we played
tischtennis for a bit.
Then on Wednesday we taught a new investigator
named Mileva for the first time. She is super nice and comes from
Bosnia. She is going to be hard because she is so happy with where she
is, so we are just trying to help her understand how much better she
can be. And then we taught Marek (well attempted) I really try to love
Marek. But sometimes wow he bothers me. So the ward has been
absolutely amazing in literally saving his life, they took him from
living in a tent with nothing to being in a decent appartment with
everything you could possibly need but he has seriously zero
gratefulness. There is one man in particular that was a HUGE part of
the effort to help him and he spent tons of money on him in groceries
buying a storage unit for him to put his stuff in, paying for his
appartment, he did so much. But now Marek all of a sudden is convinced
that this guy stole some stuff from him. But he doesn't even know what
he thinks he stole. He went to the police and filed a report against
him. I just don't understand him. But I am still trying to find love
for him. He is so nice to us. Which I guess is good.
But then we had Sport Abend and had a pretty large group of youth there which was awesome. Nothing huge happened the next few days just normal lessons and finding and whatnot.
Then came Sunday and Easter. It was such a
cool day. Catholic Church bells ringing all around, beautiful blue sky
and warm day, everybody was happy, and just a good spirit in the air.
It was a really good day at Church and there were some really good
talks, then we went to three different members houses and got to teach
lessons there and eat at two of them and do an Easter egg hunt at the
other and they made us both an Easter basket with candy and a tie, and
Dr Pepper and it was so nice. Then we had a big steak for dinner which
was amazing. I miss steak. And my favorite drink called Almdudler.
It's way good. Drink it if you ever get the chance. But they only sell
it in Austria. I also met a guy that served here quite a while ago and
came to find out he was Patrick Leishmans companion here in Neumarkt.
Such a small world. His name was Jake Fields.
Then today we went hiking again to a mountain called schafberg but
sadly didn't make it to the top because the snow was too deep. But it
was still way fun and pretty. We also took a nonmember with us and
just talked with him and made a good friendship. Hopefully we have
helped him a little bit. He lives in north Germany and is only
visiting but maybe we planted a good seed. We'll see. Great p day
though!!
This week was really good and I am hoping we can make next week even
better. I hope you all had an awesome Easter.

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
Easter basket from an amazing familyAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06962686600696392995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7338574375300757425.post-64358780562497486792016-03-21T10:41:00.001-07:002016-03-21T10:41:29.066-07:00Hello!
This week will be pretty short because we spent most of our time in
the apartment because elder Harvey has been sick since Tuesday. But we
still had a good week. We had Distrikt meeting on Tuesday and we
talked a lot about commitments and why they are important which was
good. I taught about asking direct questions and did a few role plays
and it was really good. I like Distrikt meeting a lot. But then we
came home and Elder Harvey was feeling really sick so he went to sleep
and I just did some studies and started reading "Our search for
happiness" (which I ended up finishing that day) haha it was a really
good book for members and non members alike to gain a good knowledge
of why we do what we do and are who we are as a church. It's pretty
short too so it's an easy read. I also this week have been listening
to a lot of talks from back in the 1980s and on and there are so many
good talks from so long ago that still are so effective today. I
really like the older talks because in a lot of them they are very
bold and straightforward which I really like. One of my new favorite
talks is from President Gordon B Hinckley and it's called four Bs for
boys. I believe it's from April 1981. But it is so good. I would
really encourage you to read it if you have some time. But the four Bs
are Be smart, be clean, be fair, and be true. I really liked it
because it is really just for very basic things we can all do to be
and become the people God wants us to be. And it starts of with a
pretty funny analogy. Haha
As for investigators we are still struggling to find new
investigators. Hugely because we couldn't go finding this week since
Elder Harvey was sick, but we did get in contact with David again when
we went to dinner for Fabrizios birthday and we talked to him and he
said he was really sorry he had been avoiding us and that his dad
called him and said if he heard he was even still meeting with us that
he would cut communications with him and so he was scared to talk to
us. We just told him that it is okay and we understand and just
invited him to keep reading and praying and told him if he ever needs
anything to let us know. So that was sad but at least we know where we
are with him now. Everybody else is just continuing with very slow but
always good progress.
I am doing really great and even though I hate being inside and not
out working I have tried to take advantage of the time and study the
lessons more and familiarize myself with the doctrines and everything.
I also got some good language studies in this week. We also had to
play a couple games of zug um zug to pass the time haha. But then we
had a really good day at church, we finally made a return appointment
with the Dax family who is a new convert that has us over once every
couple weeks to teach his mom and brother. It's pretty cool to see his
new testimony so strong and in action and they are both very open to
it. So hopefully that goes well this week.
That's really all that happened this week. Not a huge week but still a
good but different week. I'm just praying to get back out and work
hard this week. I love you all and I really hope you have a
wunderbares week!

Liebe Grüße,
This week was really good! We had a lot of special stuff this week
which made it interesting. We had Mission tour and also stake
conference this week so we spent pretty much all of Friday through
Sunday in Salzburg. But it was way fun! I learned a lot this week
which was awesome. We have not had a ton of progress with our
investigators and we have been trying really hard to find some new
investigators but finding here is pretty dang hard. But we keep
trying. This week we spent a total of 11 hours finding. Haha which in
a bigger stadt would not be that bad. But in a bunch of small dorfs
it's a ton. Haha on Tuesday we doored for 6 hours straight. We almost
doored a whole dorf. Hahaha in that 6 hours we found one PU. Haha but
we are keeping our heads up and working hard to find new people.
We also went through our whole area book and called a whole bunch of
people and cleaned out the ones that the numbers didn't work and had
no addresses or anything. We found a few people there that we may
start teaching. Hopefully those work out.
On Friday we had Mission Tour in Salzburg and our zone and the Wien
zone came together which was way fun. It was great to see Elder
Cornetta again and catch up with him, then I also saw Matt Lyman! He
is the zone leader now in Wien and it was way fun to talk to him and
catch up and talk bikes a bit together. He is awesome. It was cool in
mission tour we actually talked a lot about the Articles Of Faith and
it's cool there is a very cool organization to them that I had never
recognized. It's 4x3+1.
1-3 talk about the plan
4-6 talk about structure of church
7-9 talk about resources
10-12 talk about activities in church
13 is
It was pretty cool to see that. Then we also talked a lot about
following the rules and how exact obedience brings blessings. It was a
pretty good meeting!
Then on Saturday and Sunday we had stake conference which was way
awesome. There were some really good talks and it is so cool because
the focus all around the church right now is on Member missionary
work. It just goes to show how important and truly vital it is to
missionary work. One thing I really liked that was said in conference
was that nothing we do in this work is ours. My two years of serving
no matter how many lessons I teach, people I baptize, people's lives
we bless, etc. it is not for my own glory. It should all be done in
the glory of God and for him. This is his work. I thought that was
really cool. And at conference I saw and talked to Jakob Schenk for a
bit. He said to tell the Leishmans hello! He is way cool and he
actually was one of the first fellowshipers for our investigator
Horst. It was fun talking to him for a bit.
It was another good week and I continue to learn so much from
everybody around me every day. We had a companionship stay at our
apartment for conference and one was a brand new missionary this
transfer and I was thinking finally I'll know more than somebody in
the mission, but as I talked to him I swear I learned more from him
than a lot of other people. Haha but it's good. It was humbling. :) I
love my mission! I hope everyone else has a great week also.
here in the field which seems absolutely crazy to me. But I am so
stoked about it all right now. Seriously the mission is so hard and
very hard work a lot of times when the last thing you want to do is
work but it is so worth it all. But anybody that is considering
serving a mission, it is so worth it and I can't even explain how much
and how quickly you learn.
Now speaking of learning quickly I'll start
of about how I learned being familiar with your scriptures is
important. We had a lesson last week on Monday with a lady that
invited us back after we did an Umfrage (survey) the Saturday before
and so we were teaching her for the first time and we were teaching
the restoration and she was asking why there are so many different
churches and I had the great idea of sharing 2 Nephi 28 15-18 which
talks about the great apostasy.. Oh no I lied its 2 Nephi 28 3-5. But
I told her the previous one. Of course I accidentally pulled out one of the
very few scriptures in the Book Of Mormon that says the word whore and
talks about burning in hell.... Luckily she understood that I made a
mistake and happily read the correct verses. But yes, I now know I need
to know my scriptural references a little better... Haha sadly she was
very happy with where she was at and was not interested in learning
more but we left her with a Book of Mormon and our phone number and who
knows maybe she will change her mind. We made contact and introduced
it and invited and that's all a missionary can do.

Then on Tuesday we had Distrikt meeting and that was really good we
spoke a lot about how the Book of Mormon is the keystone to our
religion and how once you know the Book of Mormon is true then you
really can know everything else is true. It all falls into place from
the Book of Mormon. One thing that I learned and have been practicing
is not just praying for an answer if the Book of Mormon is true once
but to continually pray about it. Pray about every chapter. Pray to
know what you should learn from this certain verse. Pray to feel
comfort. I have really been learning how helpful the Book of Mormon
really is in every way and when investigators read in the Book of
Mormon it's crazy how much more progress they make and honestly just
their countenance even changes. It's so cool!! But then it was also
cool because it just so played out that in almost every lesson this week
that subject became very relevant. It was cool!
Then on Wednesday we had to go to the doctor because Elder Harvey
dislocated a rib during Frühsport so now we have to go to Salzburg
once a week for physical therapy. Haha we also met with a member
family that is part of the ward missionary team and it is seriously so
cool here in this ward how dedicated they all are to missionary work
and helping us and giving us referrals and joint teaching and
everything. It is truly incredible how much more smoothly this work
goes when the investigator is introduced into open arms of people that are
really actually welcoming them. This ward when we bring a investigator
to church we have members greeting them people sitting next to them
even people inviting them to their house for dinner. It is amazing. I
would really like to invite everyone at home to take any opportunity
you get to really reach out and help people and make them feel
comfortable. Invite somebody to dinner, ask someone if they want to
hang out, it doesn't even have to be church related just reach out and
be a good example of standards and you will be doing missionary work
already.
Sadly this week we have completely lost contact with David. We call
him but he never answers and he doesn't answer his door if we come
by.. I think he is just scared to go any farther with his dad being so
upset about it so we have backed off a bit and just praying for him.
Sonja told us that she really just is happy about her life and that
she doesn't really have a desire to know more truth and we talked to
her about spiritual potential and showed her the video of the guy
going on the cruise and just sitting in his room the whole time
because he doesn't realize his ticket includes everything and that
seemed to have sparked it a little but we will see. Patrick is doing
awesome he has been praying every day he says and he tries to read
every day he is the smartest kid ever but sometimes it makes me worry
that he relies on his own knowledge more than knowledge from the Holy
Ghost. But he will get there, and hopefully pull Sonja along with him.
Cassandra has made some good progress finally! She came to church this
week and she actually read this week she actually had a cool
experience with receiving an answer in the Book of Mormon and so she
was excited. I made a deal with her that next fast Sunday I'll bear my
testimony if she will bear hers. Haha those are the main people right
now.
After church we went to cassandras house and she fed us and holy crap.
I have never been so full and sick in my life. A Romanians diet
consists of meat, meat, and more meat. We had like this meat soup,
then schnitzel and like 5 of that, then they brought this huge salami
plate out. Man that was too much meat. I never thought I would say
that. It's funny I get a taste of everything here. I have had greek
food, African food, Argentinian food, Romanian food, Turkish food and
German food. Haha hopefully I don't get too fat.
It's also cool. Our zone this transfer challenged us to every day try
to find a miracle in the day and write it down. It's cool to see how
fast that list adds up. And it's not just all the big crazy miracles
but all the little miracles that if you weren't thinking about it you
would totally miss. God really is in our lives every day and helps
us. It's really cool to realize that.
Then last thing I wanted to talk about that we talked about in church
this week is talents. Everyone has talents and we are all so blessed
to have been given the talents we have. I know that we have all been
given the talents we have in order to bless our lives and bless those
around us. Use your talents and work on them and improve them. But the
coolest part is that the places where we aren't "naturally talented"
if it is important and we are humble we can be made strong.
Ether 12:27 "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men
weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all
men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves
before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become
strong unto them." I really like that!

Well I love you all!

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Hunter
Wow my first transfer in the field is already over. It's crazy how
fast it actually went! We got our transfer calls on Saturday and I am
staying here with Elder Harvey! Which is sweet! Elder Harvey's last
transfer!! My second and his last. Haha but I'm stoked to be staying
with him.
This week was fun because we got to mix it up a little bit and do some
different stuff. On Tuesday we had Distrikt Versammlung which was
awesome. Elder Storrer went off on how Muslims and other Christians
Faith's believe a lot of the same things as us but that a lot of their
doctrines conflict themselves and he went deep haha like a 5 page
booklet comparing stuff. Pretty funny. But then after we had district
meeting we did a district finding day which was seriously way cool
cause we all traded companions and so I was with our zone leader Elder
Samuelson and it was just so interesting to get to see another persons
approach to finding. It wasn't better or worse than what we do
normally but it was just one more way to know. He was so good at
pulling out scriptures to answer people's questions right there on the
street and I thought that was so cool. It makes me want to be better
familiarized with the scriptures!! But that was way cool and I learned
a lot.
Then here comes the crazy part. Then they made me and sister
whiting who is only one transfer older than me go together and it was
hard. I went from being able to always fall back on my companion if I
got stuck, to being the one saving. Sister whiting had never been
street contacting and I think she is scared to just throw herself out
there in German.
But we talked to a few people and struggled through
the language barrier but succeeded not to get Englished but no real
interest from anyone then sister whiting stopped somebody for the
first time and I was kinda finishing talking to somebody else and I
heard her stop him right as I was saying bye to the other then just
silence... She didn't know what to say. Hahaha so I hurried and
started talking and he was the coolest guy. I explained to him that we
were just in Salzburg today and simply wanting to share a message
about Christ and faith. He was very open and I asked if he had a
religion or faith and he told me he didn't really have a certain
religion but he has faith in Christ and knows he is our savior. We
explained that we know he is our savior as well then we shared mosiah
3 5-8 and that lead into us talking about the Book of Mormon and we
explained that we believe in the Book of Mormon as well as the bible
and that we use them hand in hand and he loved it. I gave it to him
and invited him to read from it and had him read Moroni 10 3-5 and he
said he would give it a shot and then he told us that they have a
group that gets together for bible study every Tuesday night and that
he would love for us to come and talk about the book! Sadly I had to
go back to Neumarkt so I didn't get to do that but he was so ready for
the gospel and I hope that he will accept it as the Salzburg elders
begin to teach him. He was so cool!
But it was seriously so cool because just in those short few hours I
learned so much from both Elder Samuelson and Sister Whiting, I feel like
my mission is helping me learn that no matter who I am with I can learn
something from them. Or at least that has been the case every time so far. Even if maybe
it's somebody you are not so open to learning from... I have learned
that too.
But then we started our austausch so me and elder Nebeker headed back
to Neumarkt and we taught Sonja the gospel of Jesus Christ lesson and
it was really good. She opened up to us a lot about her childhood and
how it was pretty rough for her and yeah it was good. Then we had a
member appointment and sport abend where we just played some fußball!
It was pretty fun me and Elder Nebeker had a pretty good time together
and had a good day then we tausched back the next day about 12 and it
was fun being with Elder Nebeker but Elder Harvey is the best! Haha
The week in between that was pretty average. Nothing big. But then
Friday we were going 90 miles per hour all day. We had ward mission
council then a lesson, then a lunch appointment, then apartment
inspections, then one lesson, two lesson, then a dinner appointment.
Holy crap. It was awesome though!! In our Distrikt the Ehepaar has a
competition that whoever has the cleanest appartment gets to go out to
lunch wherever they want with them. We got 100 percent on our cleaning
check and he goes hard. Like checks everywhere. Haha he checked the
blinds for dust. But yeah so we ate
a great Asian buffet today. :)
Then Saturday was pretty cool. We got to be the witnesses for a
baptism in Salzburg and everything there went well. It was cool to see
a convert baptism as I have actually never been involved in one. It's
cool to see someone so excited about it. It was this African guy named
Peter! He was way cool! Then we just played some basketball with the
kids at the baptism. All in all it was a great week!!
Liebe grüße,
Elder Hunter

Well this week was a little bit different because I was dying coughing
this week and just had a constant headache. It was rough haha. But I
also learned a lot from it this week. Elder Harvey wouldn't let me get
out of bed so I slept a lot this week and we tried to stay inside as
much as possible since it's still pretty cold. But on Tuesday and
Wednesday I just slept in till like 9, did companion study and said I
would do language and personal later then went to appointments. I did
do my personal study but it was very short and not as meaningful as I
wish it would have been and it was crazy the difference I felt missing
just two days of good personal study. I felt like I was just lacking
so badly. It made me decide that no matter what I always want to have
good meaningful studies. It's really so cool how much better you feel
the spirit and the wholeness of the gospel when you make the effort to
invite it each morning.
Even though I was sick it was still a really good week. We still
taught 14 lessons this week and we worked hard. We did a lot of area
book work and had hardly any success haha but we were able to clean up
the area a lot and make the area book a little more useful now.
I also finally applied for my Visa this week so now I can finally be
legal! Haha
We met with T and we kind of dropped her as an investigator for
now because while she is living at home she really can't make any
progress and she is not really putting forth any effort to make
progress either. But we decided we are going to try going by her house
and talking to her mom and seeing if maybe she will open up to it at
all. Then we also met with D who earlier this week called his dad
to talk to him about him investigating our church and tell him he is
thinking about baptism. I guess that did not go well. His dad told him
that being baptized twice is a Huge sin and that if he does it he will
disown him as his son and not talk to him anymore. It's hard because
D has gotten answers and he has told us he knows all of this is
true and he wants to be baptized and he is willing to quit smoking and
drinking but he said he can't do it if his dad says no. So it's hard
to find the right balance of making sure he knows how important family
relationships are and that we would never want family bonds to be
broken to be baptized but also telling him that if he knows it is all
true and everything that maybe he needs to take a step and just trust
in the Lord. So that's where we are with D. All our other
investigators are just continuing as normal in the lessons and making
progress. Nothing huge this week. We have about six progressing
investigators this week which is good!
I have found this past week that the best way to learn a language is
to throw any pride you have out the window and just look like an
idiot. Even if you have no idea how to say something just try it. And
every once in a while people understand you!! Haha but really. The
times where I notice the most progress in my language is when I really
push myself to speak German with everybody even though everybody here
can speak English. Haha it was also really interesting. We met one
girl from Northern Germany and wow it was CRAZY the difference in the
language. She was speaking Hoch Deutsch which is what most people
speak there and it was soooo much easier to understand. Haha I didn't
realize how heavy the dialect was until then. So it makes me feel a
little better. Haha here they tend to kind of slur words together and
leave off endings of words and yeah... It's hard to understand
sometimes. Especially H and A. Mostly A though
he is a investigator and he is 45 and wants to be baptized but his
parents won't let him. He still lives at home because 10 years
ago he
got in a really bad car crash and is now pretty heavily handicapped.
Which is why is German is so hard to understand. Because first his
dialect is a little slurred but then because he has some mental
handicaps he slurs it even more. Haha even Elder Harvey rarely
understands him. Haha but he's awesome. This week was great and I love
you all!!
This week was awesome!! It felt like a really slow week work wise but
it was seriously so good. We got 15 lessons, 4 new investigators, we
had 7 investigators in sacrament, seriously just everything was so
good plus we had so much fun this week. I really think it just goes to
show that if you have fun and you truly love the work and have a good
attitude you will have success. We honestly played a lot this week but
every time we were doing something we were having fun we had our
purpose in mind and brought it out in a fun way! But don't worry we
were still obedient!! :) haha but I think that is one of the biggest
things I have learned this week is that truly you need to be happy in
order to ever be successful. If you are miserable nobody will talk to
you let alone agree to meet with you. We seriously just joke around
with people and talk honestly about things and somehow the gospel
always comes into play. If you really are just genuinely interested in
what they are saying the words come! A little rough in German but they
still come.
It is also so amazing to see how HUGE member missionary work is.
People that are recommended and brought to us by there member friends
are so so much more welcoming and willing to listen and be open to the
message of the gospel because the door was opened by a friend rather
than two guys knocking on their door with broken German asking them to
listen to our message. I would like to ask everybody that gets this
email especially my family to really try to reach out to others in
service and friendship and extend the invitation to learn more about
this amazing gospel, tell them how it's blessed your life, share a
scripture, anything! You'll never know until you try and you feel so
good giving people the opportunity to hear something that you know is
so correct and such a huge blessing.
We also had Zone training this week which was really good! We talked
about finding, the Book of Mormon, but my favorite thing we talked
about was personal conversion. This was something that for me was very
close to me. Before my mission I really took the gospel for granted
and I never really read or honestly even said meaningful prayers if I
prayed at all. I started trying harder as I decided I wanted to go on
a mission but I still took it for granted and I had this grand idea
that I would go to the MTC and gain a perfect testimony, know with all
my heart that it's true, and know all the lessons. Little did I know I
would be almost at the end of my first transfer in the field barely
knowing the first and second lesson, really still working on my
testimony, and I have realized I don't KNOW that all of it is true,
but that's okay. I don't need to have a perfect knowledge all I need
to do is have faith that all of this is true. Alma 32: 21 is perfect
for this. I guess what I am getting at is that the gospel is something
that we could learn something new about every single day for the rest
of our lives. I am realizing being on a mission that it is so true
that the gospel is so simple a child can understand it but so complex
you could spend a lifetime studying it and still not get all of it. So
we can not feel inadequate when we feel a little behind or maybe even
a little disconnected. All we can do is move forward in faith and
continue to strengthen our testimonies.
Everything here in Neumarkt is great and the weather is getting a
little warmer and the air is a little clearer and wow the mountains
look amazing. We bought Elder Harvey some running shoes so now we
switch off every morning between p90x and running! We have generally
been running about 5 miles whenever we do run and we hold at like
7:30-7:45 pace! It's awesome and I need to take advantage of it while
I have a companion that will do it with me! On Valentine's Day we had
an awesome day. We had a ton of investigators at church and also
potluck after church. Then also made schnitzel and of course we wore
lederhosen and listened to some Austrian Yodeling music. Haha it was
pretty great. And also can't forget that it was Lauren's birthday!!
Happy birthday!! All is going well here and I am so happy and I feel
like I learn about a million things a day. Missionary work is very
hard but seriously so rewarding and can be really fun if you make it
fun. :)
Alle mein liebe,
This week was awesome. It started off really slow and not good and
just got better and better! Monday was all good. But then Tuesday we
just got super thrown off because a New convert named Marek needed
help moving his stuff from Braunau to Oberhofen which is like a 45
minutes drive so we drove him all the way there and we're going to
help him clean out his old house (a shipping container like you would
see on a train) and once we got there he refused to clean out his
container and just got super upset with us and told us he was staying
and to leave. So we left and just got breakfast at a bäckerei and then
drove home. So we wasted two hours and almost 200 km first thing in
the morning. Haha then the rest of the day was just off. Then
Wednesday we had Distrikt Versammlung and went into Salzburg for that
and it was super good. We talked a lot about having Christ like love
and talked about that we have to try and look at people the way Christ
would. Then we had an amazing burrito lunch that the Ehepaar made for
us. Then we had a few teaching appointments that all went good. We
found out Sonja, Patrick's mom, is a total hippy in our lesson with
her which was pretty funny. I was able to relate with her about the
peace that we can feel in the mountains and away from everything. I
really think she has huge potential.
Then on Thursday it was just a pretty normal day. Nothing good or bad.
Then Friday was rough. We started the day good. We did the p90x
challenge again with the pull ups and push ups and we almost got our
goal of 16 pull ups and 29 push ups! Haha then we went finding and did
some tür zu tür then at 14 we had a lesson with Patrick and we invited
a member to come with us to teach him and that was a bad idea. Patrick
is only ten years old but he is freaking smart. He started asking
crazy deep doctrinal questions and me and Elder Harvey were kinda just
like yeah we can talk more about that in a later lesson and tried to
bring it back but then our joint teach took off on some very illogical
and horribly explained doctrine and at one point even accidentally
said that God is not almighty. Wow it was bad. Haha but it's okay.
That just threw us off because we were planning on doing weekly
planning but it sucks to sit at your desk for three hours trying to
optimistically plan for a whole week after a lesson like that. But we
did it and literally right as we said amen in our closing prayer after
planning our favorite members called and asked if we wanted some food
because they cooked too much. Haha God rewards us when we are
obedient.
Then Saturday was a pretty different day. We actually played
basketball all morning with the members and it was really good we
strengthened our relationship a lot with those that were there then we
did all our studies then we had kinder fashing which was super fun and
we had the chance to talk to a lot of the kids non member parents and
we found a couple people that could be really good! And also it was so
fun we were in charge of one of the aktivitäts and the kids here I
swear are all so cute. Then Sunday was the best day of the week by
far. We had two investigators at church and both of them did a full 24
hour fast and paid a fast offering which was awesome! Then we met with
Herr Meingast and the fed us and we spoke about the Book of Mormon and
he said he knows it is a true book and that it is direct revelation
from God. We extended a loose baptismal invitation and he gave a loose
yes. Haha we will see but he is so nice and very intelligent and
religious. Then we went to Hoarsts house because he was in so much
pain he couldn't get out of bed. I had the opportunity to give my
first priesthood blessing in German. It was really cool because before
we started i just apologized for my German and he said it's okay God
understands all languages. I thought that was really cool and helped
me realize truly all I am is the mouthpiece and god knows what Hoarst
needs and everything is good. Afterwards we actually were even able
to teach a short lesson and he was sitting up and seemed like he was
in less pain. It was really cool!! Then we had a second dinner
appointment and ate way too much food in a short two hour period. Then
we went and taught David he is from Russia, but it was such a good
lesson. We gave him the Book of Mormon about a week ago and he is
already at the end of second Nephi! Crazy! We extended a baptismal
invitation for April 2nd and he said yes!! He is the coolest guy. I
really like him. The only problem is he has to ask his dad who is a
orthodox minister I believe is what is said. So pray for David. Haha

Then today we went to a lake Kunigsee and it was so cool. We saw The
Eagles Nest up on the mountain and then we hiked to something called
the Eiskapela (ice chapel) it was super pretty and was just like a
circle of mountains with snow. Super cool! And of course we hiked it
in our lederhosen!! Haha all in all a very good week!
Tschüss,

This week was full of ups and downs! Monday we had a really good day missionary work wise then Tuesday was horrible we had two people drop us no potentials and all but one of our lessons cancel. Then the next day we had a little more luck taught some good lessons and found two potentials then we just had no luck the next day. But all in all it was another good week!! The bad days just made the good days that much more appreciated.

We also had a really cool thing happen. So we had just started teaching this ten year old that is seriously crazy. He has read the Book of Mormon the Karan the bible like he's crazy! But he has been coming to our church saying he knows it is true and we taught him once and his mom had no interest in meeting with us so she just dropped him of at the church and said she would be back in 30 minutes. Well she came back 30 minutes later and we were not quite done so she sat in and you could tell it actually peaked some interest and she started asking some questions. Then that next night Patrick. The boy, calls us and says he can't come to our church anymore, we asked why not and if we could help with anything and he just said not important. And hung up. We were both so bummed we were like okay we just got dropped by a ten year old. That's awesome. But then the next night his mom calls us saying she needs to talk to us, so we set up an appointment for the next day. We met with her and we talked a lot about repentance, families, and the atonement ( she had Patrick when she was 15) and Patrick thinks she is damned and has no chance to repent so we talked to her and told her we can always repent and the spirit was so so strong and she was crying and our joint teacher was crying and maybe I shed a like half a tear... But it was awesome! She said she wants to hear all the lessons and learn more. So we will see!!

I also have my first talk in German this Sunday. Wow it was ROUGH! But it was good. I prayed for confidence and to not be nervous and it was crazy I got up and started to speak and I felt so comfortable and so calm and I wasn't even nervous. My language stunk and probably made no sense but I was confident in my effort! Maybe next time I'll pray for help with the language! But it was just a short 5 minute talk on missionary work and my testimony! Pretty simple!

Hmm what else... I finally bought my lederhosens today but time goes by so fast on P day so sadly no pictures yet but I promise next week! They are awesome though! It is so good to hear from everybody at home and here how you are doing! Have a great week!!
Love
It has been a crazy two weeks that is for sure! But as many of you know I am in Neumarkt am wallersee just outside of Salzburg and it is beautiful. I love it so so Much. It is just a bunch of small little villages. No big cities. Which is good and bad, I love the small feel and everybody is nice even when they have no interest. But we see the same people a lot which makes finding a little bit difficult. But it is all so great. We have a few progressing investigators and a few with baptismal dates that we are working with. We teach a lot of auslanders from Romania , Pakistan, etc. we finally found two Austrians while finding today that we will meet with this week!

So about my Companion. I love him so so much. He is the best and he has been so helpful while I am learning and everything! His name is Elder Harvey, he is from St George and we actually have a few mutual friends! He is so funny and works so hard. We actually overbooked our day today so half of our p day has been teaching and it's been awesome. We wake up every morning at 6 and do P90x! Haha we did a challenge workout where you do 8 sets of as many pull ups and push ups as you can. I ended up throwing up out the window at the end. Haha I have a picture of it. We only shop once a transfer. We have a cupboard full of milk and it's awesome. I am buying lederhosen today. Pictures to come next week. Haha me and Elder Harvey get along really well and we have some awesome goals that we are working for this transfer. We have a goal of no less than 15 lessons per week. Which is 90 lessons a transfer. So far we are on track!

The language has been rough but honestly not assss bad as I thought it would be. I feel like I am learning fairly quickly and I feel very happy about it. People always are very encouraging and helpful. It's cool because the people here are very patient and they will correct you as you read and speak and help you out. I actually had the opportunity to extend a baptism invitation to a new investigator named Herr Meingast. He said yes I would but I am already baptized in the katholic church and we were out of time so we will talk more about it this next week. I also learned that saying I am cold in direct translation or I am hot in direct translation is not good ich bin kalt means I am gay. And ich bin heiss means I am horny. Haha

Like I said my area is a bunch of small villages so we have a car and we get to drive everywhere so I am getting my Austrian license!! It's awesome cause we get to see so much more than anybody else and on p days we can go anywhere in our zone! So today we went into Salzburg which was awesome. We bought so much food.. Hana

Life here is so great and I am loving life and my mission. I love you all!
Aw it makes it so much harder when you don't ask questions! haha This week was a little different. It was very on and off but it was mostly all really good! But we will start last Wednesday. I was having kind of a hard time and I had a few small things bothering me so I asked President Preston if I could talk to him and we went to his office and We seriously just talked and talked and talked about everything. I went into that meeting feeling just a little sad, and frustrated with myself and my companion and the language and a few things like that and we talked for almost two hours and at the end I asked if he could give me a blessing and the feelings I got and the comfort I felt was seriously incredible. I was so happy. It was to the point that when I came back to the district room people were asking me why I was so happy and what was happening haha. But I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and watches out for us. I read a scripture right after that. It was just like the stories you always hear about but I opened the book of mormon and the First verse I saw was Mosiah 7:33. It talks about if you lose yourself in his work and serve him with all diligence of mind, he will deliver you out of your trials and direct you. It was such an amazing verse to read at the perfect time.

Then the rest of the week was pretty normal we went about our teaching and learning and attempting to speak German. I got very frustrated with my companion when we were teaching a lesson about the Apostasy to our investigator Vincent and I felt like I was bearing a powerful testimony of the Apostasy and why it had to happen and right as I finished before Vincent could even respond Elder Price started correcting my grammer. Any spirit that was in the room was just gone. But its okay I talked to him about it and explained that I really appreciate his help and love when he corrects me but that there is a time and a place to do it and in a lesson is not the time. Later that day we had the best lesson we have taught together yet.

We got the next batch of missionaries and there are some cool ones but I miss the old group. its crazy how close we all got in the short three weeks we were together but it was seriously like we were family. But in this new batch we got a native German speaker so we have all been trying to talk to him and get used to it. haha he probably thinks we are so annoying but he is super nice and really helpful. He says I have a bad American Accent when I speak German. haha oh well proud to be an American! haha hmmm what else... well this is the last week in the MTC so that is very exciting!! Next time I write I will be somewhere in the Alpenladishe Mission! Finally!!

This was just a quote that one of my teachers shared from Mother Teresa and it just fits just about everything in life.

"People are often unreasonable and self centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyways. For you see in the end it was never between you and them. It was between you and God."
